If you could change one event in history, what would it be and why?

If I could change one event in history it would be the unification of the German people in 1870. Before this event Germany was a geographic expression. It was divided into hundreds of harmless political units. When Bismarck united the German people into a strong nation it became the dominant nation in Europe. From this time on Great Britain and France felt threatened. Germany needed an empire. She felt that the best colonies were taken by Great Britain, France, Holland and Belgium. From the beginning she defeated France in the Franco-P[language] War. France lost Alsace-Lorraine to her. France wanted war in 1914 for revenge and to regain Alsace-Lorraine, especially the city of Strasbourg. This was one of the reasons for World War I in 1914. Also Germany was jealous of Britain's empire and built a large navy to challenge it. This was another reason for World War I. Germany's defeat led to the Versailles Treaty, the huge indemnity Germany had to pay, the terrible economic conditions (the inflation), led to the rise of the Nazi Party, which fed on the discontent. This led to World War II. After the defeat of the Axis (Germany, Japan, Italy) the Cold War occurred. This led to the rise of the Soviet Union and the rise of Communism. There were several instances when the world was on the brink of war. And World War II led to the Holocaust and the Atomic Bomb.

What is something that not a lot of people know about you, but you wish more people could know?

Most people perceive me as a very sociable individual with a very good sense of humour. This can be accredited to my excellent ability to form and maintain relationships with people from a diverse range of backgrounds. However, I am not sure if many people recognise that I am a very assiduous and ambitious individual. In most circumstances I remain calm and optimistic, but at the same time realistic. This can be negatively misinterpreted by people who may get an impression that I am uncaring. As an individual I greatly relish challenges as they force me out from my comfort zone and force me to think pragmatically to deliver an effective solution to the problem. I therefore tend to confront a problem with a great sense of zeal and optimism, because it gives me an opportunity to think about a solution in a creative manner and at the same time inspires me with determination to succeed.
